The IT3Sb-Q transformer station is designed to transform 6000 V/500 V voltage in a three-phase IT system with a frequency of 50/60 Hz. It is indented for the use in underground mines, in atmosphere with methane explosion hazard.
All its components are closed in a flame-proof enclosure tested according to the valid ATEX standards.
The power electrical part consists of a lockable disconnector with removable key, surge arrestors, and a compact power circuit-breaker with an integrated electronic release device. This release device protects the transformer leads against overcurrent, short circuit and current asymmetry. The other safety components include an intrinsically safe circuit and an insulation monitoring device to measure the insulation before and constantly after the circuit-breaker is switched on.
The transformer station operation is controlled using a PLC. The operating values, value of insulation condition of the monitored network and status information are clearly shown on the LCD display that is installed underneath the visor in the LV chamber.
The transformer station can be controlled both locally and remotely. Data transmission can be ensured via Modbus protocol, using Ethernet interface or HDSL. Based on the remote surveillance, the operator is able to fully monitor and control the station. The software to control the station has been developed for PROMOTIC system environment with an implemented database of individual stations archives and a database of operators.
